The Incomplete Book
John was a sportswriter with a lifelong passion for basketball and baseball. He loved planning to teach his newest nephew about sports and often played softball and basketball with his family and friends. John was working as a journalist for the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland, when a gunman entered the office and took his life, and those of four of his colleagues, in a mass shooting.
He had spent nearly 13 years working on a book about the history of high school sports when he was killed. His wife and other sportswriters will try to finish it for him. He didn't live to see it finished.
